First Aid Certification- Red Cross

First Aid Training

All school staff must be trained in First Aid-CPR-AED. We provide Red Cross certification.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)– An emergency procedure in which the heart and lungs are made to work by compressing the chest overlying the heart and forcing air into the lungs.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)-is a portable electronic  device that automatically diagnoses and treats life threatening heart conditions. With simple audio and visual commands, AEDs are designed to be simple to use. Many organizations have AEDs in their facilities of vehicles.

First aid is the assistance given for a sudden sickness or injury prior to professional medical help(ambulance). First aid does not necessarily require any particular equipment and can involve improvisation with materials available at the time. Maintaining and using a first aid kit is part of the certification.
